Most Himalayan Seva Expedition and Trek packages are scheduled during the prime trekking season of October through May, when the weather and temperature are the most cooperative for trekking. While sudden storms can occasionally occur and temperatures do fall to sub-zero at higher elevations during the winter months, this eight-month timeframe is considered trek-optimal. For travel during the rainy season of June-September, we recommend side trips to Bhutan and Tibet.
Treks range from a couple of days to over a month in duration. They also vary in difficulty based on the destination, altitude, length, and duration, as well as your level of fitness. So when planning your trek, note the ones that align with your schedule and physical condition; also consider that treks scheduled during best-weather months often mean larger trekking groups and more crowds in Kathmandu.
In addition to the treks, Himalayan Seva Expedition and Trek also offers side trips within Nepal so you can discover more of what this incredible country has to offer you. Side trips include:
- Pokhara Lake Country.
- Chitwan National Forest.
- Bhuthan 3-5 day side trips to the country of Bhutan.
- Longer treks into Tibet.
